Skyline Goes Green

SKYLINE'S COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

Carbon Footprint: Skyline is constantly working to upgrade the production process of building a home to reduce and recycle material waste, and reduce the consumption of energy it takes to build a home. Many materials we use to build a home, such as adhesives, paints, caulks, and sealants, etc. are water based environmentally friendly "Green" materials.

Our manufacturing plants work together with their local Power Companies to find ways to conserve and better utilize the energy it takes to build a home.

Our supplier's continually work with Skyline to find us the best materials to help us build "Green". We design and build with Green Construction in mind. Green Construction is much more than installing insulation made from recycled materials. Green Construction is best described as always finding better construction methods and energy efficient materials to decrease the home building and home ownership impact on the environment.

energy star

Energy Star: Our standard homes are very energy efficient. Our standard homes meet or exceed the requirements of the industry governing agencies for energy efficiency. Lots of top grade insulation is installed in the floors, walls, and attic cavity. Extensive caulking is used to reduce heating and/or cooling loss around openings. We install high performance windows and doors. We use many UL listed and Energy Star approved materials. We even install Energy Star approved gaskets on the mating sections of every Skyline multi-section home!

Skyline offers an upgrade to have your home built to the more rigorous EPA energy standard of a Qualified Energy StarŪ home. Energy experts signify that an Energy Star home can save 20% to 30% on your energy bills over conventional construction.

An increased amount of insulation, a super high efficient furnace, a programmable thermostat, these are a few of the items that may be needed in your climate zone to qualify your Skyline home as an EPA Approved Energy Star home.

Note: The Energy Star upgrade is available at participating locations. Actual material upgrades will vary depending on climate region.
