Park Models
Park models are temporary quarters built on a frame which are generally used in resort or vacation locations.
They are not large enough for a primary residence, but are just the right size for a family get-away. Since park models can be used for extended periods of time, they typically include many amenities for enhanced livability. Although they are small in appearance they can be fully appointed inside. Park models less than 400 sq. ft. of total living area are governed by the ANSI Standard A119.5. It is a national safety standard which lists safety requirements for fire and life safety, construction, electrical and LP gas usage. Park models more than 400 sq. ft. of total living area are built to the same federal standard (HUD code) as single section and multi-section manufactured homes.
The Federal Manufactured Home Construction Safety Standards regulates the design, construction, structural durability, transportability, fire resistance and energy efficiency of these park models. It also prescribes performance standards for the mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. Skyline park models enjoy the same benefits of efficiency and quality through factory assembly as single section and multi-section manufactured homes. They also feature the same high quality materials. The park model lifestyle is commonly referred to as destination camping. Park models provide private accommodations typically located within several hours drive from a primary residence. They are the perfect way to "get away from it all" and enjoy all the benefits a park model has to offer.
